Sock on facing Del Potro: ”Definitely someone you don’t want to play against”

The former Grand Slam champion turned out to be too difficult for americas highest ranked player, Jack Sock, in the finals of IF Stockholm Open. ”Delpo” won in straight sets and Jack Sock would rather not play against ”The tower of Tandil” in the future if the chance strikes by.

Congrats to a great tournament Jack. How would you summarize the final against ”Delpo”?

Tough. I mean, he’s been playing well, since his comeback. He serves massive, tough to read, definitely having problem with that today. He was holding preaty easy most of the time which puts more pressure on my serve. He just played well today honestly, he had the better week. I had a long week out here, played a lot of tennis, it may have caught me a little bit but no credit away from him, he played a very solid match.

How high would you rank Delpo today in the rankings?

No idea, he is a former grand slam champion and got 19 titles to his name so obviously a very good player and he is healthy again. Definitely someone you don’t want to play against.

What has made Stockholm so special for you?

They do a great job with the tournament. It’s very hospital, they take great care of you and make you definitely feel at home. It’s the first week of the last stretch of tournaments in Europe and it’s been a long year. It’s definitely nice to come to a tournament where you feel relaxed and laid backed and they do a great job. One of my favourite tournaments of the year.
